Video Game Review Wizard 101
Wizard101 turns into a passable MMO after level 7, it is a bit baby-ish when you start it. They are obviously trying to attract a diverse membership audience. Yet it picks up speed. It goes from Harry Potter to more Lord of the Rings by the upper levels. So far I am mainly Morgan Raven Shade the Necromancer, and Morgan Liveweaver the healer, if you play add me to friends. It is good fun for people who like Monty Python and WoW style games with pets, dragon mounts, fishing and the Nights That Say Ni Guild. It is pretty funny. One advantage it has over World of Warcraft (WoW for short) is that if you die you teleport back to town and play mini games to advance, fish in town to heal, and train your pet right in town. Healing downtime has more money, and adventure. Also you have a SIMS style house, so there is more diversion from the monster grind. Meanwhile you chat with others all day. All in a game that takes up far less system requirements compared to WoW. I am battling Dr. Who in a TARDIS this week. One problem is it says it is “free to play” yet tempts you with purchases in the log in screen. I could see easily how “free” could get pricey fast. Not too much of a bad side for a game with so much going on in terms of entertainment.
