Reviews: This week’ Super-Comic Saturday Review is the online comic PvP Online by Scott R. Kurtz. This maybe one I re-read more often, so this will specifically be about the last ten web-comics, and the author’s latest storyline.
Scott Kurtz writes heavily with Brad Guigar on how to make web-comics. I just finished reading “How to Make Webcomics” by Guigar and his gang of writer pals including Kurtz. Guigar and Kurtz actually make a rent paying living off of posting a few doodles on the net per week, and give lectures and selling books at comic cons on how other people can do the same thing. I someday dream of making a bit of pocket cash for my web doodles, and so I read the books they publish often. The books are great fun, and filled with funny comics. I recommend them to anyone who is bored even if they are not aspiring comic writers because it is a fast read on a hilarious topic. I took and passed many classes on graphic design in University, and I would have made way better grades if other books on marketing graphic design ideas were that hilarious.
Meanwhile, in between writing stories of funny things that happen to him at comic conventions Kurtz manages to always do his PvP Online comic on time with good jokes. This latest joke is about Amazons new plan to deliver presents with drone airplanes. I was thinking about drawing a cartoon about pitbull dogs eating the drone airplanes. Yet Kurtz did a funnier joke where rednecks are shooting down the Amazon present delivering mini drones with duck hunting guns. I am sure both things will happen to the drones if Amazon starts using remotes for package delivery. It would freak me right the crap out to see a little drone plane dropping odd objects on my neighborhood. I am sure red necks will be a greater degree of technophobe when the activity starts. It would make more delivery jobs cushy desk jobs if they flew around little planes. However, far more things can happen to the deliveries. Kurtz shows this well and keeps the joke funny. I say it is great, check it out.
