Slightly Damned for Webcomics Wednesday and Super-comic Sunday ReviewsPollDaddy Rating Stars
Welcome to Web-Comic Wednesday, and Super-Comic Sunday Reviews! My online cartoons are posted at http://www.fh7publishing.com where my webcomics promote Animal Welfare. Comics and webcomics are made into more movies by the day, they may in fact be the new screenplay. My Technorati rating this week is 19831 at Frozen History Seven Publishing out of about 2 million comic blogs. It is listed here: http://technorati.com/blogs/directory/overall/page-821/ I am rated Authority: 105 in Comics Reviews up one popularity rank from last week. It is a big deal in book promotional blog obsession land. I had to beat out 3 small Canadian Comic book stores with celebrity interviews for that vast honor so yea… there is that to think about.
Name of Comic: Slightly Damned

Major Themes: Fantasy, magic, humor based on magic.
Days of Update: Sunday
Will it Continue: Looks likely.
Review: By its own description it is a 2012 Ursa Major award winning comic, with a podcast and Kickstarter profiles to spare. “Slightly Damned is a story-driven comic in a fantasy setting. It has comedy, romance, drama, and some violence and swearing. Updates on Wednesday and Saturday.” – as it says on the page. This is a massive promotional money dump in that they claim “I’ll also be selling charms, stickers, signed books, commissions, possibly signed prints, and buttons” It has multiple language availability formats. When do they do a comic in all this marketing mayhem? This is some serious George Lucas style promotions going on over here. I keep expecting to see Yoda. The series has an interesting premise as plot. The main character Rhea dies, South Park’s Kenny style in frame one. Yet Anubis the god of judgment has no idea where to place the character. Hijinks ensue in the middle lands between life and death. I don’t quite give this one five stars because I can’t quite figure out what all the fuss is about. It seems to be spending way more energy on promotion than creation. Yet webcomic 100 gave it top rank, so it is a good way into more information on webcomics. It is at the very least a good study on how to promote a webcomic (or any Internet books, crafts, or art) to ultra-lucrative extremes. I am perhaps a wee bit bitter because their Kickstarter page for doll creation is working so well, and my Kickstarter page is acting mega on the glitch side. Oh well, the art and story is solid, I give them props. I think it is great, check it out!
