SXSW would be a great deal more fun if it was not in parking Hell. I am really glad I was not parking in the rain last night… 😛
It does seem hilarious that every person comes in from around the country thinking of Texas as a warm, dry, humid land. They pack their smallest outfits on the way to SXSW clearly afraid that they are going to be far too hot in this land of Texas cactus. Yet March is part of the one time of year that Texas turns cold, rainy, and very ugly. Everyone from around the world is dragged here just in time to see the worst weather of the year. Bikes and cars become caked with freezing mud. I really question the timing of the events the corporate world has decided to praise in SXSW. Almost as much as I pity the outdoor bike cabs and outdoor vendors who pretend it does not bother them that they are forced to make a buck in the nasty outdoor weather.
